Childlike Love

On October 17, 2013 I had just gotten back from seeing my grandbabies! Livvy turned seven today. Lilly is five months old and Malachi (whom I was meeting for the first time) is almost six weeks old. I had only seen Lilly twice since she was born and that was when she was a little baby. She really didn't know who I was. But as the days went on she would run into the kitchen and hug my leg, or come to me when I held out my arms in the middle of her melt downs. But the best part was when her Mommy, her older sister, and I were gone and she stayed with Grandpa Matt.

Now, he will tell you that when she walked up and hugged his neck, that was the best part. Melted his heart on the spot! Not that it needed it because he's an old softy anyway! No, the absolute best part was when we got home from shopping and Lilly and Grandpa Matt were outside playing and Lilly looked over....and started running toward us! She was moving as fast as her little bitty legs would carry her! I figured I would have to step aside and give her room to pass on by me and to her Momma. Imagine my overwhelming joy when she ran straight to me and held her arms out for me to pick her up! Oh just the memory of that sends my heart sky high!

In the midst of my broken heart and tears this morning, at having to leave them and come home, I was crying out to my God. And yet, I was thanking Him for the special moments with them. Then it dawned on me...I often run to God when I am hurting and when I am desperate for a word from Him. What joy He would have if I also ran to Him because I had missed spending time with Him. How precious He would find it if I ran up to Him in the joy of my day and just wrapped my arms around His legs in total childlike love...

Prayer: Oh Father! Let me do this often! Let me bless You with my undying, forever, love for You! Thank You again, that You have taught me through my grandbabies! Amen and Amen!
