Need Some Direction?

Psalm 143:8 says, "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."

I was driving to have breakfast with a friend a while back and I started to think about how I sometimes forget how to get where I'm going. I know the destination; but when I start thinking about the way, I get a "lost" feeling. I have to stop and think about which turn to take, which road to take and I realized as I'm doing that this morning that my life is a lot like that too.

I know my destination with no doubt. But I don't always know what path to take. And it seems that in this life a lot of times there are many different paths that you CAN take. That's why I have to be in constant communication with God. Which way do I go Lord God? Which turn do I take?

Think of God as your GPS. He alone can show you the way; provides the way and will direct your path! Isaiah 30:21 says, "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'"

Make sure the voice you hear is the voice of God! And listen - don't just hear. That means do it! Do what He says. No matter how odd it may seem and no matter how hard it may look... you can bet it will be good and rest assured you will be so thankful you did!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, how very lost I would be without You! And I’m not going to ask that You would direct me, because I know that You always will. I do, however, pray that I would always hear Your voice; AND obey it! You see everything Lord. You know everything. You know where I have been, You know where I am at right now and You know where I need to go. Thank You Lord Jesus that when I ask, You share Your wisdom with me. I can walk from one room to the next and not remember why I was doing it! Did You see me the other day Lord? Of course You did! Three times! Three times I went downstairs to get something and then got distracted by something else and completely forgot why I went down there! The only hope I have is in You Lord! Thank You for laughing with me Lord! Yeah, I know sometimes You are even laughing AT me! We do have a good time don’t we Lord? I love that about You. I love everything about You! Even when You take me down a path that I don’t really want to go. Because You are for my good Lord. And I can trust everything about You! Amen!!
